Under our Green Policy we will:
- Offer regular environmental health checks that highlight areas of improvement and recommend methods for achieving sustainability.
- Ensure that every property has sufficient recycling facilities and that they are managed effectively, kept clean with good signage and cleared regularly.
- In a tendering process; obtain at least one quotation from a contractor that is recognised for their commitment to green standards.
- Work with gardeners and residents to improve composting and promote the growth of vegetables and allotment areas.
- Promote and support public and non-motorised transport such as busses and bicycles and provide residents with information about how these facilities can be used effectively.
- Promote the installation of bicycle storage facilities that are secure and safe.
- Actively seek out local service providers who demonstrate a commitment to the environment and form partnerships with them that will benefit residents through programmes such as discount schemes.
- Invite and support organisations and trades to run ‘eco’ seminars open to our residents.
- Always consider the financial implications of our actions and find the most cost effective sustainable alternatives to non-green methods.
- Cut down on our use of paper and ink in favour of electronic systems.
- Re-educate residents who ignore site rules or act irresponsibly.
- Work closely with developers to achieve carbon neutral goals in sustainable building practices.
